all in all great value. good sized rooms. there was pool too.
-
A great base for exploring Castlebar. Everyone we met from the staff was pleasant. We enjoyed this place.
The only thing missing was shower. Beds were bad.
-
Good location and helpful staff but lacking a little on the management.
Access to the pool was patchy and children not treated with respect by pool attendant. Cleaning in function room was of a poor standard though the hotel was very busy. Food on floor from previous night and cobwebs in particular.
-
Lovely hotel with friendly staff and a good quality restaurant. Unfortunately we didn't use the spa/pool as we had too much exploring to do in our 4 day visit.
Just that strange damp smell along the corridor to our room.
-
An excellent hotel, with very large comfortable rooms. The dining room was of a very good standard and reasonably priced. The service from staff could not be faulted. Hotel is situated in an excellent location Would certainly recommend this hotel.
-
The hotel was great. What makes it special is that the hotel is in a castle. The staff are nice and the facilities are good and the rooms spacious and clean. I can definately recommend this hotel.

The first morning we were there we were awakened by the fire alarm going off very early, it was not a pleasant experience and kind of frightening. We were awakened on the last night of our stay and asked to move our car. They said there was an alarm ringing from it. We had been driving the car all over for two days and never heard any alarm. They made my husband park way far behind the building. When we returned the car today, we asked the car rental company about it and they said there is no alarm .whatsoever in that car. It was not very nice to wake up a man in his 70's late at night and send him out in the cold to park way far from the hotel. My husband had stayed there many times before and even brought is daughter over from US and had her wedding there. We have only been married a couple of years and he wanted bring me to stay, but thew days were dissasterous. Certainly not what he experienced before. We really think they just wanted the parking place we had, so they made us move

It is a brilliant hotel (castle) to stay in. The staff are excellent and the rooms are spacious and well laid out. We arrived on Sunday and from the moment we checked in we were looked after. The Indo sitting in reception every morning was a pleasant surprise as it meant we did not have to go into town to get one. We ate in the bar the first evening and also the last night as we wanted to watch the football matches. Service was superb food was good and staff friendly and chatty. On morning of check out we were served coffee and biscuits and sat around and had a read of the Indo. The receptionist Deirdre was so professional was pleasant and helpful. We will definitely be back to this wonderful Castle.
We enjoyed everything about this hotel.
-
Rooms very comfortable and good size for 3 friends to share room having double and 2 single beds. swimming pool very relaxing good temperature set in lovely grounds food great and reasonably priced
-
Great value on kids menu and food was great
-
Lovely building in large secluded grounds.
Rooms etc. looking a bit shabby and in need of re-decoration. Lack of basic maintenance in rooms:- (Wardrobe door would not close due to broken hinges, mould around bath surround, air in pipework causing excessive noise whenever water was used, vanity mirror in bathroom almost dropping off the wall and dirty marks on the carpet) Door into kitchen from main corridor was filthy and covered in grease.
-
Convenient, comfortable, excellent sports facilities, friendly staff. Very atmospheric
Nothing, had the most comfortable hotel stay of my life
-
Good breakfast. Decent leisure facility.
The place is falling down. Has huge potential. The staff are lazy and there seems to be a huge lack of management. No maintenance carried out in rooms. I say it once was a classy hotel but the standard is dropping.
-
The food was great, I enjoyed visiting the pool, the staff were (mostly) lovely, beds were comfortable
The steam room smelt a little musty
-
staff very helpful specially in the dining room.
